So, good news, I've finally started on the WOR updates. Honestly, the shit with my life has been stressing me out and rendering me basically incapable of writing anything decent. Especially because of Marshal. But, I'm getting back into swing, thank god. And if you guys ask really nicely, I'll tell you what the next one after WOR is gonna be about :D
Speaking of the good old boy, before he left for Fernie, he's been facebook messaging me twice a day. That's pretty much spam for him. He was really busy on Thursday, so he didn't send any, but I got two on Friday and two on Saturday, and the last one was typed out five minutes before he left. He's not getting back in town until the 23rd, so I probably won't see him until after boxing day, but this is the weird thing. At the end of each message, he quoted a line of lyrics, and I finally googled them and they're from
this song. It started at the end of the first message on Friday, which was
Have a great holiday. "I'll see you in while, and don't forget that smile..." I finally sent him the link to the lyrics asking if he was quoting this, and he said
haha! YES! I thought I was going to have to quote the rest of the song before you figured it out! I asked him what the quoting mystery was about, but since that was the last message he sent before he left, he probably won't be on the internet until he gets back.
So, what I'm really wondering is if this was a random attempt to be romantic, or what the hell. Considering I have the romantic experience of a preschooler, I'm way out of my league here. If any of you actually read the lyrics in the link, what do you think?
In other news, since I went on vacation this weekend, I managed to visit a Chapters and buy a shitload of new books. I bought some comics, including The Umbrella Academy: Dallas, and this cool graphic novel biography of Johnny Cash. What I was really looking forward to, though, is getting Audry Niffenegger's new book,
Her Fearful Symmetry. It's no secret that her other novel,
The Time Traveler's Wife, is one of my absolute favourite books, so I was really excited to read her new one and see how it matched up. I'm about halfway through, and so far, I'm liking it. While I haven't fallen in love with it like her other, I'm really digging the plot. I wasn't expecting it to be in third person either, but her beautiful writing style still shows through.
When everybody else was going TEAM EDWARD! or TEAM JACOB! myself and my other friends who've read
The Time Traveler's Wife said TEAM HENRY! Because really, Henry pwns both of their asses by a million. It's too bad the movie didn't do the book justice though.
